VMC Lohrmann Trial- Nov 15/09

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Matt finished up the VMC club championship just the way he started it, another convincing win in the Intermediate class. The Lohrmann Trial was the final event this year down at the VMC. The days leading up to the trial had been torrential rain, but fortunately the day of the trial was not too bad. Make no mistake, it was very wet and slippery, but not much rain on the day! Matt got off to a good start, and had a 14pt loop on a very tough riding course. Matt has matured as a rider constantly this year, and again after the first loop, continued to push himself hard, and kicked it into high gear for the final two loops coming in with two very fine 5 point loops, distancing himself from his closest competitor. At the end of the day, Matt won with a total of 24pts. Second place had 55pts and third place a wopping 92. Matt has won every single event this year so will easily win the club championship.

The final trial of the year for Matt will take place on Dec 6 at the Shawnigan property for the ISTCs final trial of 09. This will also mark the final time Matt will compete in the Intermediate class! We have really savoured these last events, and cherished this time at the end of this season. Matt is defenitely ready for the jump to Sportsman class next year, but nonetheless, he also understands that things are not going to come so easy forĀ  him at the beginning of riding up a new class. It will be fun all the same, because as I have told him, now the real riding begins. Everything he has learned up until now will be applied next year!! Stay tuned for results from the next event!
