Thanks for all the Well Wishes!

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Well it has been 2 weekends now since the National in Ontario. The emails from friends and family to Matt have been overwhelming. We all appreciate them so much! It only seems to motivate Matt even more and he is looking forward to getting back at it.

Since our return, Matt has been doing a lot of training on his trials bicycle. He also just bought a new one from one of my old friends in Alabama, Tom McNeal who is the younger brother of Steve McNeal. Steve was one of my good friends when I lived in Tennessee. He was also ranked as high as #2 in North American back in 1985. Matt seems very eager to progress his skills with the bicycle now, and knows that since he will be moving up a class next season, it will surely help with learning some trick riding. Not to mention that its an incredible aerobic activity!!!

Its supposed to rain all weekend here on the island, so thats good news for us getting out to ride. We are planning a ride over at the club grounds on sunday. We will be accompanied by legendary artist and poster maker, Bob Masse. Bob is from Saltspring Island and is world renowned for his artists skills. He will be doing a photo shoot for Matt, and helping us work on a special project we have in mind that will be presented to all Matts sponsors at the end of the year.

Club events will be getting underway again by the end of September, so it will be great to see all of our friends again after the summer travels. As well, we are awaiting Matts new number plate to put on his 125 Raga replica. It is being designed and built by LewisportUSA down in California. The have also in the past done some cool plates for all the top riders down in the US including multi-time champ Geoff Aaron. Stay tuned!
