Practise Day in Shawnigan

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

Wow! What a spectacular day today riding in the backyard! The sun was shining and in all the areas that got sunlight, there was no snow! The hardest part of the day was getting from the house up to the logging road! Still about 6inches of frozen snow! Once we got up onto the trails, you could not even tell there was any snow! We sure are lucky to live where we do being trials riders! We managed to get a few shots from today up on the gallery, so have a look all you easterners and let us know what you think!

Where to ride this Sunday……..

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

Well, being on the westcoast of Canada and being blessed with some of the greatest trials terrain in North Amercia, its tough sometimes to pick where to ride. Unfortunately with the winter type weather we had last month, that is determining where we ride. I tryed getting up the trail behind the house that leads to the fireroad and its still quite snowy. Any of the areas that get sunlight are OK, but the shady spots have lots of crunchy hard snow. Not sure where to go now! We may end up back at the VMC property for a ride again!

Ride again this Sunday!

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Well we had a great ride last weekend at the VMC property! It was really weird going a whole month without riding. I sure feel for those of you in Canada who have to put the bike away for months at a time. So, almost all of the snow is gone here in Shawnigan Lake so I think we will be able to ride in the backyard this Sunday. Might try and see if our friends Hanky and Ian and Devon Dargis are up for a ride too. We also need to re-visit our plans to ride at Maple Mountain. We tryed getting a ride in at this new area just before Christmas, but we were snowed out! WE took some pictures from last weekend at the VMC, but none of them were too great as it was incredibly foggy! Regardless, it was brilliant to be out again!

As with all of our rides this year in particular, I will try and get some pictures added to the gallery.

All Systems Go!

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

Well today will be our first practise day in about a month, thanks to all the snow we had. Its all melted down at Dave Fairs place, so thats where we are headed! Matt is very excited about riding today, me too! I will try and take some pictures to post on the gallery for those of you still snow bound!

Back to Work!

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Hopefully, by this weekend, all or most of the snow will be gone! It has been tough to be away from riding for almost a month. Regardless, its back to work with three workouts a week now! Matt will continue his training which includes weights, stretching, and core-training. Then, this weekend we hope be back out on the bike.

We had a good holiday for sure, some time off, but ready to get back at it and continue to progress! This years focus will be on the Pnta championships, the WEC Championships and all the local events. Sponsorship for the upcoming season will determine whether we get to make it back down to the TTC and the US Youth Nationals again. Although if our friends the Langfords, from Alabama have any say, we will be there for sure!!!

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year, and wish you all the best! Also a big thank you to Matts sponsors for the 08 season. Dave Fair, from GasGas Pacific for his tremendous support and for getting Matt on what we beleive is the best 125 bike out there! Outlaw Dave Rhodes for his continued support and supply of Opti- Lubricants! A product that TeamFracy has used exclusively since 1990. To Barry and Renee Langford of Huntsville Alabama for there friendship which has stayed strong for 20+yrs, and their amazing hospitality and support this past summer while down there riding the Youth Nationals. To Bob Johns from Coast Internet/TrialsCanada for coming on board supporting Matt with this great website! To all our friends and most importantly, family, who have been so supportive! Thank you all! Now hang on! The best is yet to come!!!!
